Louis A. W. Sheridan is a multi-disciplinary artist and tastemaker. Louis’ world is one where wildly different cultures collide on command. His work draws on recurring themes of newness meeting nostalgia, nature brushing up against urbanity, and the often quiet, occasionally loud pleasure of simply being here, now.
Based in both Paris and London and working globally, Louis’ studio explores a range of mediums and ideas; photography, filmmaking, painting, sound design and art direction. The common thread running through Louis’ work is a commitment to storytelling and a meditative focus on moments that might ordinarily be missed.
The last few years have seen Louis tracking tigers through jungles, spinning records in Shibuya, documenting decor in the high Himalayas, and shooting stars draped in couture. Louis has photographed covers for Condé Nast Traveller and British Airways High Life Magazine, created columns for Purple Magazine and ES Magazine, and featured in titles including Vogue France, Harper’s Bazaar and the FT’s How to Spend It. His previous clients include Loewe, Maserati, Mr Porter, Smythson, Matches, BMW, Chloé, Bang & Olufsen and Soho House.
Louis is the founder of Stable Thought – a creative studio and brand consultancy dissolving the hazy borders between fashion, art, music and travel. Previously he co-founded the editorial platform and agency Discover & Escape, and was Creative Director at hotel collection Mr & Mrs Smith. He continues to consult for and art direct brands throughout the travel and lifestyle world.
Louis is currently based in London working on his first book and an exhibition series.
